ENRD 401 - Integrated Writing I & Intermediate College Reading


This is a combined lecture/lab, performance based course designed to develop students’ critical reading and academic writing skills. The focus of the course will be on applying basic critical reading skills for organizing, analyzing and retaining material and development of effective sentences and fundamentals of grammar, punctuation, and spelling as well as determining the main idea and supporting details from a written text.  Instruction will be provided in a laboratory setting.  This is a course with a required lab.
Lecture Hrs. = 3, Lab Hrs. = 3
Pre/Corequisite: LSSS 300  

Accuplacer Placement Test score of Reading 46-61, Essay 3-4, and Sentence Skills <80, or TSIA reading score 342-346 and/or writing score 350-356.  TSIA placement is based on the lower of the two scores (reading or writing).
